Originally from Scotland, Executive Chef-Owner Joseph Martin discovered his passion and flair for cooking while pursuing his first love of becoming a soccer player and was lured to venture the world with his culinary skills. Having worked in the prestigious restaurants in Europe such as two-Michelin-starred Hotel Martinez in France, Savoy Restaurant in London in his early age before moving to Australia to join Grand Hyatt Melbourne, Sydney Opera House and eventually opening his own restaurant together with Cosimo – Harry’s Bar Joseph then went on to venture Asia culinary culture and heritage for the past 20 years, having worked in renowned five-star hotels, such as InterContinental Hotel Group, The Pan Pacific Hotel, Sheraton Luxury Hotel KL; managing many outlets in each property as well as banqueting & events. His culinary journey in Asia covered vast area of the continent including India, China, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Myanmar and Singapore. His personal experience in these countries had exposed him to new discoveries, cuisines and cooking cultures which he embraced in his style and unique culinary style.
Joseph had personally overseeing the Asia’s Formula One events catering in Singapore as well as Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where he showcased his culinary skills to some of the world renowned dignitaries and celebrities. Joseph also handled weddings, corporate events as well as other social events for the Asian High net-worth individuals. His passion for culinary experimentation that saw his involvement in television programs in UK and Asia can be felt right at Belvedere Bar & Grill.
